What do elections mean to you? Do they even matter? Voter turnout is low, support is fractured, and it seems like people are questioning the importance of elections. If they do matter, is it about party, ideology, or the person?
Jim Vanbrederode, the former Police Chief, knows what it takes to keep our communities safe:
Growing up, this community offered everyone the ability to safely raise a family, give their kids a quality education, and keep them here at home, helping to better our region for the next generation. It was an honor to serve as Police Chief, working with the dedicated men and women who keep our hometown safe.
However, our state senators have worked with New York’s career politicians to squander our community's best strengths. Albany’s pro-criminal agenda has made Rochester a place known for violence, not opportunity. Elected leaders in our area have caved to downstate interests, selling out our community to protect their own political futures.
Rochester needs leaders in Albany who will defend all members of our community. As a former Police Chief, I’ve listened to families from all walks of life about their challenges and am prepared to fight for solutions in Albany.
