Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to another exciting episode of the Next Steps Show. This week, on the Next Steps Show, we welcome an accomplished CPA and esteemed author. Boasting an MBA from Case Western and a formidable 42-year career auditing nonprofits and governmental programs, our guests’ insights are invariably razor-sharp and imbued with seasoned wisdom. He has a proven track record of publishing in-depth examinations of complex issues such as social security and the 2008 financial crisis, courageously unearthing concealed truths. Now, he turns his discerning eye towards the sanctity of our vote, as explored in his latest book, Debunked?. Join us as we traverse his distinctive journey from music to business to becoming a dedicated crusader willing to put everything on the line to confront tyranny and governmental deceptions. Let's extend a hearty welcome to the Honorable Joe Fried, CPA.---Joe Fried attended Case Western Reserve University on a full scholarship and graduated with an MBA. He was subsequently hired as an auditor by Ernst & Young. In 1983, he established his own firm, from which he retired in 2021. Throughout his 42-year career, Joe conducted and supervised countless audits and was an AICPA-authorized peer reviewer for dozens of other audit firms.
In 2003, Joe published his first book, How Social Security Picks Your Pocket. This book chronicled the waste in the Social Security program and called for a private option for participants. Subsequently, Joe uncovered a scheme involving thousands of teachers in Texas participating in an illegal scam costing the Social Security program an estimated 2 billion dollars. They were masquerading as full-time janitors. He alerted the Social Security Inspector General, who responded, “We take your concern seriously and will open an audit ....” Thirteen months later, the audit was completed, and the Inspector General concurred with Joe’s 64-page analysis without exception. However, Joe soon experienced the power of the teachers' union and the reluctance of Social Security Administrators, who refused to cut off the fraudulent benefits.
After the 2008 financial crisis, Joe wrote a unique book called Who Really Drove the Economy into the Ditch. Unlike other analysts, Joe traced the roots of the crisis back to the early days of the Clinton Administration, with its push to eliminate the downpayment requirement for home mortgage loans.Joe’s newest book, Debunked?, is his most controversial and critical work so far, as it scrutinizes the sanctity of our vote. In Debunked?, all major issues of the 2020 election are discussed, and the elections in six crucial swing states are analyzed. Joe raises the question: were those states' elections truly certifiable?
This summer, Joe will publish a new book listing 23 election-related problems that need to be addressed before the 2024 elections. The book will include recommendations for each issue.Apart from his work, Joe is passionate about music. As a young man, he performed on his clarinet under Leopold Stokowski in Carnegie Hall. He still occasionally performs with his wife, Nina, a pianist. He quips that the transition from music to business is a long story, best shared over a couple of cold beers. After graduating from high school, Virginia continued to cultivate her love for music at Monroe Community College (MCC). Join Peter Vazquez and Ayesha Kreutz for a great conversation with New York Citizens Audit (NYCA) – Marly Hornik, founding member and Director & Kim Hermance, founding member and Trustee.
---
New York Citizens Audit (NYCA) is a non–partisan team of concerned citizen volunteers working to restore election integrity to the Empire State. These heroes have volunteered thousands of hours to do what the state will not do - audit the New York State voter database. Using publicly available data, NYCA has analyzed over 20 million records in the New York State Voter Rolls, finding millions of irregular registrations that impacted the results of every race in the 2020 General Election. NYCA believes an end-to-end audit of the NYS Board of Elections is warranted. Armed with the facts, our volunteer County Strike Teams bring NYCA’s documented evidence to officials. We intend to pursue every remedy available under NYS Law and the Constitution to bring accountability for the Citizens of New York State.
New York Citizens Audit is dedicated to restoring and maintaining the essential, founding American principle of honest, provable elections in New York and across the nation.
''The first grand right, is that of the people having a share in their own government by their representatives chosen by themselves, and, in consequence, of being ruled by laws, which they themselves approve, not by edicts of men over whom they have no control." From "A Letter to the Inhabitants of Quebec," unanimously signed by the delegates to the First Continental Congress on October 26, 1774
Marly Hornik:
Marly is the Founder and Director of the non-partisan, grassroots organization New York Citizens Audit (NYCA). She leads a team of hundreds of citizen professionals from across the state who investigate, research, and audit the New York State Voter Rolls. Marly has been a speaker and advocate for election integrity in New York State and across the nation.
Kim Hermance:
Kim is a founding member and a Trustee of New York Citizens Audit (NYCA). Kim serves as the statewide volunteer coordinator and organizer of NYCA‘s County Strike teams. Kim believes citizens need to understand what happened in the 2020 election so the systemic issues in the election process can be fixed for future generations. She has worked tirelessly in NY State to educate citizens about election integrity.

The Next Steps Show: Navigating Knowledge, Rights, and Leadership. Welcome back, faithful listeners!
This week, we're delivering an in-depth insight into the most engaging discussions from the Next Steps Show, hosted by your favourite duo, Peter Vazquez, the Conservative Nuyorican and Ayesha Kreutz, the Extraordinary Machine. From the exploration of false knowledge to understanding constitutionalism, there's something enlightening for everyone!
Our first topic of discussion rings true with George Bernard Shaw's famous quote, "Beware of false knowledge; it is more dangerous than ignorance." In an age characterized by an unprecedented overflow of information, distinguishing between accurate knowledge and misinformation becomes imperative. Remember, it's always better to question than to accept blindly.
Our hosts also shed light on individual rights and constitutionalism. Individual rights are the foundation upon which the United States was built. Our Constitution safeguards these rights, providing a guide for governance and societal interaction. Understanding these principles empowers us as citizens, helping us advocate for our rights and uphold the values we cherish.
A pertinent discussion between advocacy and activism emerged, highlighting the unique but interconnected roles both play in shaping societal discourse. Advocacy often involves working within the system, promoting change through policy revisions or legislation. Activism, on the other hand, may involve stepping outside conventional norms, rallying public sentiment, and sparking dialogue for systemic change. Both are crucial in driving social change, each with its own strengths and limitations.
The concept of a limited government aligns closely with the principles of individual liberty. By constraining the power of government, we ensure that individual freedoms are not trampled. Our hosts discuss how this idea, when implemented effectively, can strike a balance between necessary governance and personal liberty.
Free Market Capitalism— a foundational element of our economic structure, enables competition, fosters innovation, and promotes individual enterprise. In essence, it's an economic system where supply, demand, and prices operate with minimal government intervention. When used effectively, it can serve as a powerful engine for growth and prosperity.
Finally, our hosts shared profound advice for our listeners—how to find strength and courage to forge forward, dismantle barriers, and emerge as the leaders they are meant to be. This journey starts with self-belief, coupled with an unwavering determination to succeed. Your power lies within you; it's about harnessing it effectively.
Remember, leadership isn't about control, but about empowering others. Leaders are not those who impose, but those who inspire. Let your actions demonstrate the values you stand for and make a difference as God intended us to be.
The Next Steps Show, through these enlightening discussions, continues to challenge our listeners to question, learn, and grow. We provide an engaging platform for robust discussions, a medium for change, and a beacon guiding individuals toward a path of informed action and leadership.
So tune in next week for another insightful episode, and remember—knowledge is power, so arm yourself wisely. Stay curious, stay informed, and stay inspired!
